Welcome to PMJAY.net — an independent, privately-run resource that explains the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY / Ayushman Bharat) in plain language. We are not the Government of India, the National Health Authority, or the official PM-JAY portal, and we do not process applications, registrations, or claims. Our job is simply to help you understand the scheme, check your own eligibility, and find your way to the correct official channels.
Our Mission
PM-JAY’s rules, portals, and eligibility criteria can be confusing, especially for first-time applicants in rural areas. Our mission is to translate that complexity into clear, accurate, easy-to-follow guides — and to always point you to the genuine government resource when you need to take an official action, such as registering, downloading your card, or filing a grievance.
What is PM-JAY?
Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) is the flagship health insurance scheme of the Government of India, launched in 2018 under Ayushman Bharat. It provides eligible families with health cover of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalisation, at no cost to the beneficiary, through empanelled public and private hospitals.
What You’ll Find Here
- Plain-language guides: eligibility criteria, how to apply, required documents, and state-specific scheme comparisons.
- Free tools: our Eligibility Checker, Hospital Finder, and Coverage Calculator to help you check your status and understand your benefits.
- FAQs and troubleshooting: answers to common questions people run into when checking eligibility or locating a hospital.
- Links to official channels: every guide points to the genuine PM-JAY / NHA portal for the actual application, registration, and card-download steps, since those can only be completed there.
Our Commitment
We aim to keep our content accurate and up to date, and we cite official criteria wherever possible. That said, scheme rules can change, and state governments sometimes add their own variations — so always confirm your specific eligibility and application status on the official PM-JAY website or through your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) before relying on any information here. See our अस्वीकरण for more on how we source and present information.
